Kahunaville - Treasure Island
Some people go to Vegas for the gambling. Some go for the shopping. Still others go to see shows.
I go for the free stuff.
Although my intent was to just walk through Treasure Island for the decor, a lei-wearing cocktail server was passing out free drink tickets for the bartending competition inside Kahunaville Bar. Free drinks? Okay. What's the catch? Bartending competition? I'm in.
Apparently Kahunaville has flair bartender showcases nightly, but on Thursdays at 11 p.m., there's a flair bartending competition. The buy one get one free coupons ensure you're there long enough to watch at least one bartender perform, but it's so entertaining, you'll want to stay through the show. After all, can your bartender do this? [my amateur footage from last night]
The flair bartending competition pits the staff of flair bartenders—many of whom are national or world champions—against one another in a short set. The cocktails created during each bartender's set are then auctioned off. If last night's pours are the norm, you can get a pretty strong drink at a stellar markdown if you choose to bid. I saw one guy get a fishbowl-sized goblet of booze for $10, and one lady in yellow bid and won three times for drinks that all cost her less than $15.
The cocktails are sugary—but tasty—treats typical of an island-themed bar. Some of the cocktails on the list are quite potent, especially anything that contains tequila. They're a Vegas deal at $8.50 a pop, but for a more efficient buzz, bid on the auctioned drinks.

I have been to this place before as well. Great showmanship from all of the bar tenders a good cocktails. My liver still hurts from this place.
